Family Weekend

A couple weeks ago we met my dad, Hailey and Trent at the aquarium.  We needed one last trip before our passes expired.  We have had the best time going to the aquarium this past year!  We love the sharks, big turtles, Tuki play room and the anaconda.  It was fun going with family.  Peter loved to hold my dad's hand and skip from place to place.

The next night we had our Messer family over for dinner.  It was fun to catch up with all of them!  Here are some pictures from the night...

Look at those cute cousins!

This and That

Here's a little peak at what's going on around these parts...

Peter is 19 months.  Say what?!  He's going to nursery now and this last Sunday he went without crying.  Hallelujah!  Peter loves cats.  Loves them.  If there is a book or movie with a cat in it he goes crazy pointing and screaming, "maaam!  meow! maaam!  meow!"  He wants to be big so bad.  He plays with legos all day, but those little finger of his have the hardest time keeping pieces together.  I'm constantly rebuilding his guys or little cars.

My father in law spent some time working on some house projects for me this past month!  He is the best!

crazy hair day at school

Charlie is enjoying school.  He likes recess and computer class best.  He used to say, "mom, today the saddest thing happened.  I was girl-trapped.  That's when you have a girl on both sides." His teacher said his class isn't allowed to say that anymore though.  Ha!

A few weeks ago we spent a Saturday at Thanksgiving Point.  We love our Saturdays together.

Joey, asleep at 6:45pm.  We love this boy!  He plays hard and sleeps hard.

Labor day hiking!

BYU graduate dinner

Tony has had a couple pretty intense homework weeks.  I don't know how he does it all, but somehow he does and I'm so proud of him.

I can't believe we're already into fall!  This year is flying by!

Cedar City Trip

bedtime stories at grandma and papa's house

We took a weekend trip down to Cedar City after the first week of school.  Cambridge and Addison were in their city's production of Aladdin and we wanted to see it!  Tony had to be in class so the boys and I took the trip by ourselves.  We missed him!

 out to lunch

We visited and played with grandma and grandpa, watched Beckett's soccer game and had fun cousin time!

Saturday night was the big night!  We loved the play.  So many kids and so much talent!

 Great job, Addi & Cambridge!

We love going to Cedar!

Back to School

We had a Back to School Feast for FHE before school started.  I pulled out the fancy glasses and made some of their favorite foods.  We picked a theme for the year: "The Family is of God."  We read a from the Family Proclamation and discussed it while we ate.  It was a fun way to start off the new school year!

First day of school

Charlie has been waiting and waiting for Kindergarten to start.  Today was finally the day!  He picked out his clothes himself and I had to laugh because he looks just like a little Tony to me.

His school sure made things fun on the first day.  The faculty and older kids lined the halls chanting, "lets go kindergarten lets go!" and gave high fives until he reached his classroom.  Charlie said he was fine without me but I snuck in behind him anyways :)

photos from my sneaking

I came back to the house with just these two cuties.  It was weird but good.

Charlie and his neighbor buddy, Brock

Some of my friends texted me these pictures during the day.  I guess they were cool enough to go in the classroom!  We have lots of little kindergarten kiddos in our neighborhood.  Charlie has 4 kids from our ward in his class.

They went to preschool together and are now in the same kindergarten class!
 Charlie and Nixon

Charlie requested chocolate chip cookies for his first after school snack....

I made him tell me all about his first day while he ate one.  Unfortunately, he only remembered a few details about recess.  I have to ask the right questions, right when he gets home for school, or he "can't remember" anything he did during the day.

Joey's first day of school was the following week!  He had a great day and was definitely ready to go after watching Charlie go to school.  Joey is going back to school with the same teacher he had last year.  We LOVE Mrs. Adams.  She is perfect for Joey.

I sure love these school boys!
