Sharing the Gospel

Day of Faith: Personal Quests for a Purpose - 3. Rachel Esplin from Harvard Hillel on Vimeo.

In our Relief Society, we have a few moments every Sunday where sisters share "missionary moments" they had that week. I'm always so impressed with the stories that are shared. Stories of simply inviting neighbors over for family night, or sharing the gospel with the cable guy because he was curious about the temple picture on their wall. Maybe because I grew up where the LDS faith was the majority, I haven't had many chances to share my testimony/beliefs with people that aren't members themselves. Honestly, I'm a little scared to do so! Two summers ago, when we lived where we now live, (outside of Utah) a girl I worked with asked me a little about our church. I was so taken off guard and I wish I could go back and re-do that conversation. Maybe not sound like such an airhead :)

This video really impressed me. Brief synopsis, an LDS student at Harvard is on a panel answering questions about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints. The simple, true and honest answers she gave made me more confident in myself. Maybe I won't be so afraid now.

If you have 20 minutes to spare this is really worth watching.

A Little Video

1ST VIDEO: Charlie has been "talking" like crazy lately. It's so cute because you can tell he thinks he's having a conversation. He has become very aware of the camera (and the little red light for recording) so this is the best I could get before he clammed up!

2ND VIDEO :Even though this ends with him spitting up I had to post it because this is seriously what we do all day! Charlie has been spitting up like crazy ever since he was born. Good thing we have LOTS of bibs and LOTS of burp cloths. You can tell he he wants to be on the move. He's constantly kicking and lifting his head. Pretty soon he's going to take off!

Blow Outs

I don't know what has been going on lately, but for the past few days we have had way too many of these...

Blow outs
Add that to the spitting up and you eventuall
y go down to this...a diaper and bib.

You can only have so many onesies soaking in the sink!

3 Months

Charlie is 3 months old today! It has gone by so fast, yet I feel like he's been with us forever. I'm so happy to be his mom and how couldn't I be? Look at that face!
Charlie woke up from his nap all smiles today!

At 3 months Charlie loves:

*baths
*sucking on his fingers (pointer & middle)

*reading stories with mom
*funny faces
*watching mom and dad
*being swaddled when he's sleepy
*staring at ceiling fans, toys with flashing lights, TV, his mobile
*Dad's voice

*when we talk to him
*being wherever the action is!

He's beginning to:

*touch/reach for toys hanging off his playmat
*grab onto everything
*put things into his mouth

*make noises when we talk to him
*giggle

He is just such a sweetheart.
We love him!

Photo Time!

When we were in Utah, our good friend Wende Moore said she'd take some pictures of Charlie. I was hoping to get just one good picture-- one picture I could frame.
Holy cow! She did such a great job!
Here's some of my favorites...
Not only are there a ton of great pictures, but all the pictures are equally great in both color & black and white! Which makes choosing even harder!

I had to post this photo (below). It looks like something out of GQ magazine! It cracks me up!

Something to note, these were taken with Charlie being 2 months old--so he wasn't an easy newborn to mold & sleep through the whole thing. Even still, she got all of these great shots (plus a ton more) That just tells you what a great photographer she is!

She also took some family pictures that turned out great as well.

With so many options, how are we ever going to choose which ones to frame? Our house just might turn into a museum of Charlie photos :)
We're in the house hunting business right now and I'm hoping we find something soon. When we do, I'm thinking I want to make a memory wall out of these and some of our wedding photos.
Something like this....

Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU Wende!!!

Bath Time Hair

This kid has some crazy hair! It molds its way into a frohawk when I don't comb through it.

But this is what it looks like after a bath...Wow

Such a cutie!

2010

I can't believe it is already 2010! I love the beginning of every year--the feeling of a new beginning. I have a feeling this year will be a good one.
Our New Year's Eve was good considering we were recovering from our Christmas vacation. (Anyone else get exhausted after vacations? Isn't a vacation supposed to be relaxing?)
We snuggled up on the couch and watched...
I LOVE this movie. Tony gave it to me for Christmas. I think both of us could quote the whole thing.
For FHE this week we went over our personal and family goals. I've never been great at making new year's resolutions...I guess I've never really tried. But this year I have some goals I'm excited start.
I'm following this for one of my goals.
Life's back to normal now. Tony is at work and it's just Charlie and me chilling at home. I love staying home with him.
Charlie had his two month appointment and boy is he growing! He also had the dreaded immunizations. It is so awful watching a baby get shots, but he was a trooper and was fine a few minutes later.
Yesterday I took this video, not sure why I did it sideways- so tilt your head if you want to watch :).
And yes, I realize the baby talk is a little annoying. I can't help it! This poor kid is going to think it's normal to talk like mickey and minnie mouse!

We're looking forward to this new year!
