Peter's Newborn Photos

Peter had a photo session when he was 5 days old.  Here are some of my favorites from that day!

"Baby Peter's in snow!"-Joey

 Look at that squishy face!
I kind of want this photo blown up really big....not sure where to put it but those lips kill me.

My Aunt Keri made the blue blanket in this photo.
She has made a blanket for each of my boys.  Such a special gift!

 cute little toes

He looks like such a little man in this photo!

We sure love our Peter!

Home

Being in the hospital was wonderful, but we were ready to be home at the end of our stay!  Here are some pictures of us packing up and heading home!

first time in his carseat

We made it home and life is definitely different than it was before!  We love having Peter as part of our family.  It's amazing how the heart is capable of growing past what you thought was possible.

These boys are happy, crazy, sweet and make my life more than I ever imagined.

Our Time in the Hospital

I wanted to post some pictures of our time hanging out in the hospital.  The boys were at home with mom, but still spent lots of time with us too.

Peter and his rabbit.  Charlie and Joey both got special stuffed animals while in the hospital (they both still sleep with these animals) and Peter couldn't be left out!
My mom gifted him this sweet rabbit and it's perfect for his special animal.

 Charlie loved Peter's feet

 He looks so chubby here!
It's amazing there can be rolls when you're only 6 lbs ;)

Peter is Here

Our Peter was born February 27th at 10:07 am.
He came weighing 6lbs 13oz and was 18" long.
Our smallest baby :)

Tony and I checked into the hospital at 7am for my induction.  My delivery nurse was fantastic and took great care of us. I was hooked up and had my epidural and water broken by 8:30am.  I was dilated to a 6 by 9:30 and around 9:50 I started to feel stabbing pain in my lower abdomen.  I was checked and we all gasped when the nurse said I was at a 10 and Peter was coming right away!  She called my obgyn (who I absolutely loved) and he came running from his office across the street.  Literally, he was panting when he arrived.  He sat down, I pushed 3 times and Peter was here.

After his bath...is he all boy or what?!

The nurse wrapped him in a blanket and immediately laid him on my chest.  We were able to spend a quiet hour with him and it was such a special time for Tony and I.  My heart felt it was going to burst.

Later that afternoon my mom brought Charlie and Joey to meet their new baby brother!  I could not wait for the boys to see that yes, there really was a baby brother in my tummy!  They were both interested in him and Charlie kept saying, "mom, he's teeny tiny!" whenever he looked at his feet or hands.

That night some of my siblings and parents came to see the newest member of the family.  Besides my mom, this is the first time we've had family be able to visit with us in the hospital.  It was wonderful :)

Aunt Hailey with baby Peter

Tony took the boys to get a special birthday treat for their new little brother.  We sang "Happy Birthday" and Charlie blew out the smartphone candles.  Gotta love technology!

Peter's birthday was a little piece of heaven.  This is truly what life is all about.

Peter's Pregnancy

Overall Peter's pregnancy was wonderful and very similar to Charlie & Joey's pregnancies.  I'm very grateful to have healthy pregnancies.

23 weeks

The beginning wasn't horrible, but from week 7-13 nothing sounded good except fast food or cheap frozen pizza.  Being home with Charlie and Joey was especially exhausting during this time.  I would turn on a movie, slide the kitchen table to block our back door, lock the top on our front door, put snacks and drinks on the table and pass out on the couch until the boys woke me up to tell me the movie was over.  Man, now that I'm typing this out I'm realizing how ridiculous that sounds.  I'm just glad the boys made it out alive and without injury during that time :)

32 weeks

It was harder to find the time to exercise this time around, but I did the best I could and was able to stay active until the very end.  Christmas break taught me that I could not sit around and eat whatever I wanted :)  Seriously, my legs started swelling, my back was killing me...as soon as I got back into routine the swelling went away and I felt great again.

I'm afraid I may have been a major whiner towards the end.  The weeks went fast but the days just dragged on!  Sweet Tony often came home with one of these for me...

I had a major Ben and Jerry's thing going with this pregnancy.  It got bad and quite frankly a little embarrassing.  I haven't had any since Peter's birth.  I need to try it now and see if it really tastes as good as I remember.  Maybe it was just a pregnancy thing?  I'm afraid it's not and I'll be addicted again so I better hold off for a while :)

the day before Peter was born

I loved feeling Peter kick and move.  He kicked so hard at night that the mattress would move (Tony could even feel it) when I laid on my side.  I look at Peter now and can't believe he grew inside of me.  Life really is a miracle.

Valentine's Day 2014

Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays, but with being super pregnant AND having the stomach flu that week lets just say I'm looking forward to celebrating the holiday next year.  Luckily no one was sick on the actual holiday so we still celebrated with our annual special family dinner and small gifts for the boys.

That morning the boys and I made raspberry ebelskievers for breakfast.  We even had little bowls, filled with syrup, for dipping.  We brought breakfast in bed to daddy since he had been up late with work the night before.

I really wanted to make a special dessert for dinner that night, but our kitchen looked like a bomb went off in it after a couple days of not being cleaned.  I did dishes, more dishes, swept and even mopped.  After all that I was wiped and tiredly looking at my cake recipes when there was a knock at the door.  My sweet visiting teacher was there with decorated valentine's cupcakes.  I believe the spirit prompted her to save me from making a mess in my freshly cleaned kitchen :)

It was a fun night.  The boys got little cars and watercolors as gifts.  We've had fun painting during the cold afternoons when we can't go outside and play!

Happy Valentine's Day!
