The PERFECT Fit

I've been looking around for some kind of chest to go in the corner of our dining room. Something to display dishes and decorations for each season.
Remember the thrift/antique-ish store I bought this at?

Well, this place again had the perfect piece I was looking for....

Isn't it beautiful! It was exactly what we were picturing, even better actually. It's a corner cabinet so it slides right up against the walls--a perfect fit.

I love the windows up top and the closed cabinets below.

I really like the yellow paint inside, but it's a little too yellow for me. In the future, I'm planning on painting a paler yellow and replacing the knobs.
It brightens up our whole dining room!

Sitting Up

Today I've been helping Charlie sit up.
He is getting so strong and can hold himself up for quite a while.Holding out those arms for balance...

As long as mom doesn't shriek and clap with excitement, he can concentrate and keep pretty steady!

Rice Cereal

Tonight was Charlie's first time trying rice cereal.
He's such a big boy!

Such a LONG wait!

We have had so much fun getting our new house organized. It's fun to imagine what we could do. I want to take our time picking pieces we will love for a long time, but it's hard to be patient!

Last week I found THE CUTEST little thrift shop. The owner, with a few friends, finds furniture ( refinishes it) and antiques, then sells them in their shop. The whole place is covered in one of a kind chests, dishes, signs...I could spend hours browsing through everything.
I bought this end table for our living room.I am in love with it!

I have a serious obsession with red. I don't know why but I'm drawn to anything and everything red. I have been for years. Maybe it's because I really love pink and red is the closest thing that isn't too girly...maybe.
I'm hoping this little table will work with our new furniture, but we won't know that until MAY!!! We just ordered a couch and chair and unfortunately they won't be delivered until May 5th...It's going to be a long wait with only our little loveseat, but it's okay--I love what will be coming!

A Little Stroll

We are having the absolute BEST weather right now. Warm enough that I put on my capris, flip flops and took Charlie to the pond that's down the street. He loved it! It's so funny because since it has been gloomy lately, he's not used to being outside. When we do go out, he looks around in awe like he's in a whole new world. It's so fun watching him discover new things.
It feels like spring is finally here! Hopefully this nice weather will stay!
