4th of July

I love the 4th of July.  This year we got ready early by making firecrackers to hang in our windows.  They turned out super cute!

A friend in our neighborhood put together a neighborhood bike parade & breakfast so we decided to stay home and do that this year.  We decorated the scooters and Peter's car the night before.

After the parade we came home for naps and for a surprise!  Tony told the boys to come to "attention!"

"We are going on an overnight vacation!  Get in the car!  Your bags are already packed!"

We drove down to Provo to check out the Freedom Festival.  I've always wanted to go.  While it was fun, it was HOT.  So HOT.  It was either buy snow cones or melt to death.

We drove to our hotel for a quick swim.  It felt so great after being outside in the heat!  We didn't swim a lot this summer so this was so much fun.

We quickly changed and headed out for dinner.  Our boys needed to be introduced to Provo's Malt Shoppe.  We moved to Utah for BYU and so our boys need to experience certain things :)

The boys begged to go swimming after dinner.  We were on vacation so why not?!

We picked our hotel because it was closest to the stadium and we wanted to see the Stadium of Fire Fireworks.  We went to the Stadium of Fire last year and the fireworks were incredible!  We had to go back and see them.

I love celebrating our wonderful country with my family.  Thankful to live here and thankful for those who serve and defend our freedoms.

Happy 4th of July!
