Peter is 2 Months

Sweet, sweet Peter is almost 3 months old.  He has stolen our hearts and we love having him in our home!  He is growing to be such a happy, content and smiley little boy.

waiting for the doctor at his 2 month appt

At his two month appointment his stats were:
Height: 22.5 inches- 33 percentile
Weight: 11lb 6oz-  42 percentile
Head Circum: 15.75- 51 percentile

He grew quite a bit from being 6 lbs 13oz at birth!

Peter now...
-loves to be held in the upright position
-still spits up quite a bit, but it's getting better
-loves to look at books.  Kicks and smiles with each page turn
-is very patient with his adoring brothers playing, touching and trying to pick him up
-fall asleep, hard, in his carseat
-likes to be strapped to mom in the baby bjorn
-smiles when he makes eye contact (after being fed and burped)
-has feathery blonde hair with a little section that sticks straight up in back
-goes to bed around 8/9pm, wakes up at 3:30 and is up for the day by 6am

I love seeing him grow into himself.  I used to think he looked so much like Joey and now I just see Peter. This stage is so fun!

We love our Peter!

Joey is Potty Trained!

Last month Joey decided he was going to be potty trained.  I was hesitant because I didn't want to add "potty training" to my list of things to do.  (Am I a bad mom?)  He was adamant so that afternoon we bought pixar underwear (to wear around the house), a big costco sized box of pull ups (for going out) and a big bag of m&m's.  We were going to go all in or not at all!

Charlie serenading Joey

The first day we pretty much lived in the bathroom, and by "we" I mean Joey, Charlie, Peter and I.  We had some pretty awesome moments all together: Charlie making up songs with the Guitar Hero guitar, singing Frozen's "Let it Go" at the top of our lungs, nursing peter on the potty step stool...these will be the  memories we laugh about down the road!

I didn't give Joey enough credit because after 1 day he was completely potty trained.  We kept him in pull ups when we left the house, but he never needed them.  We had him sleep in pull ups but he woke up dry and would use the bathroom first thing.  What?!  So proud of him!

The underwear life is treating Joey well.  He can now tuck in his weapons and the underwear elastic keeps them at his side while running full speed.  Go Joey!

6 Year Anniversary

We celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary on Friday.  It was also Tony's 1 year anniversary at his new job here in Utah.  Should I even be calling it his "new" job now?  That also means it has been a year since we left Arkansas.  That just blows my mind.  So much has happened in this past year!  A new job, home, baby...change, change and more change.  I'm happy to have Tony as a constant in my life.  He brings me so much happiness and calms me down a bit ;)  I've said it before, but I think he's my perfect match because we balance each other out!

Isn't Peter tough?  He joined us on our hike

The best advice we have received was from our first home teacher, and good friend, back in Arkansas.  The first time we met he asked, "are you guys dating?"  Which I thought was a pretty bold question since he didn't know us!  We became friends and his family often watched Charlie so we could go out on dates.  It created a great habit and strength to our marriage.  One of our goals for this year is to date, once a month, with a babysitter.  I look forward to these dates so much!

One weird and kinda cool thing about living in Utah is we don't live far from where we met!  We decided to go back to P town and celebrate our anniversary there.  We hiked the Y and tried out Waffle Love afterwards.  A few thoughts:  the Y is a straight shoot up the mountain.  When we got out of the car we both were saying maybe we should have just dressed up and gone out to dinner somewhere fancy?  But no, this was more fun and something different! It felt great to make it to the top and see the entire valley!
Second thought, this waffle was probably the best thing I have ever eaten.  Whatever dough they use is amazing, biscoff spread, fresh cream, berries...it's probably a good thing this wasn't around when we lived in Provo!

It was a great night to talk about the past and what we hope for the future.

Best decision of my life happened 6 years ago!  Happy Anniversary!

Easter Fun

The week of Easter was busy and exciting at our house!  We had Tony's birthday, Easter celebrations & Peter's blessing.  One of the best parts was seeing Peter meet his extended family.  Grandma Gibson was wonderful and came to help the week after Peter was born, but boy had he changed since then!

the boys sure liked having Papa play steamroller with them on the trampoline!

The day before Easter, we got together to do all of the fun Easter activities!  We dyed eggs, had an egg hunt, egg races, egg golf and a bunny hop race.  Sandi planned the games and even had prizes.  Seriously, Aunt Sandi rocks!  Here's a look at the fun from that day...

Happy Easter!

Tony's birthday dinner

We were able to celebrate Tony's birthday with his family this year!  His parents and sister's family drove up for Easter & Peter's blessing.  Since his birthday was in that same week, we had a birthday dinner together to celebrate!

Tony said he wanted some kind of chocolate cake so that is what we had!

The boys picked out a nerf gun for their dad & he also got a dutch oven from his parents!  We're looking forward to using that this summer!  Sandi and the kids brought a candy bar poster and cute cards for their uncle.  I'm so glad we could celebrate with family.  It made the day even more special.

Happy 30th birthday, Tony!

Tony's Birthday Weekend

I surprised Tony with a night away in Salt Lake City the weekend before his birthday.  He was turning 30 and I thought that milestone needed a little more than cake & ice cream!  My sweet sister, Hailey, came and watched the boys.  With bags packed, I picked Tony up from work and we drove into the city!

Peter got to join us and I don't think he had any complaints :)

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco and loved it.  The hotel was beautiful and right in the middle of the city.  Our favorite part was just walking everywhere!  We walked to dinner that night at The Naked Fish for some sushi.  It was Tony's birthday and sushi is his favorite.  That was an extra gift from me...to go out for sushi since I'm not really a fan :)
We picked up dessert from the Cheesecake Factory and brought it back to the room.

It had been a crazy 6 weeks since having Peter and a night away was much needed.  It was great to relax and not only have time together, but also time with just Peter!  I'm usually the one feeding and taking care of Peter since the boys want to wrestle their daddy as soon as he gets home from work.  It was good for Tony & Peter to have their own special time together.

Tony is such a great dad

The next morning we walked a few blocks to Gourmandise for breakfast.  We both decided that if we didn't have kids we would live in the middle of a city.  We had so much fun!  It was a really fun way to celebrate his birthday.
Tony is such a great husband and I'm lucky to have him!

The boys were excited to see us when we got back.  Joey did cry in the garage after Hailey left, but she couldn't stay forever :) Charlie said Peter really missed him.  Judging by the smile above, I think Charlie was right!

I love you, Tony!
