Weekend Exploring

Tony and I have started planning our upcoming week on Sunday nights.  It has given us the chance to plan things we can look forward to during the week and the time to plan out new things to do.  We're having so much fun exploring areas around our home.  Today we went hiking at Hobbs State Park and swimming at Prairie Creek.  I can't believe we've been so close and this is the first time we've been!  Sometimes you have to act like a tourist in your town in order to find the fun things to do!

First we went hiking on a small trail.  It was great for the boys because it was a smooth trail, mostly in the shade, with several bridges along the way.  There were also wild blackberries to pick.  I was a fan of that!

While walking, we heard rustling in the bushes and expected a squirrel, but instead found a turtle!  That was a surprise!

according to Charlie, "bad guys live in there"

We drove down the road for gas before heading to the lake. We saw this advertisement and just about died...

Beaver Lake...isn't it beautiful?!

It was a perfect day for swimming at the lake!  We were hot and sticky from hiking and the water was just warm enough to be pleasant.

Charlie loves swimming with his new floaties!

We stayed the whole afternoon and were wiped out when we left!  We ended the trip with cheeseburgers, fried okra and shakes at Susie Q's Malt Shop.  Such a fun day.

Cute bathing suit! I think it's great that you guys are exploring Arkansas!! It's fun acting a tourist in your own town. We're coming up on a year almost and I still feel like I'm a visitor.
