Back at Square One

Yep, the running shoes are out and I have new songs on my ipod.  It's hard starting over.  I run a couple minutes and am exhausted!  It used to be fun, right?! I keep reminding myself it will be fun again.

Now that the weather is cooling off I get to take these two kiddos with me.

I have two months to get ready for a 5k, this time with Tony! Tony has been running for a while now so I'm trying to catch up.  I don't want him leaving me in the dust!  We were looking up races together, found one in October and looked at the registration page.  Tony asked, "why pay 50 dollars to run 3 miles outside when we can do that for free?"  Good point, although I think paying the registration fee gives motivation to keep going.  We decided to map out our own 3.1 miles and use the money we would have paid to go out on a date.  I'm looking forward to it... Oct 8th is on our calendar!

Wow good for you! Maybe I can talk Scott into setting a goal with me after the baby is born...

So excited for you! I can't wait to get back in the swing of things after this baby. I miss those days when running was fun. I'm hoping to possibly do the Turkey Trot this year but we'll see. And if you want a route, Sienna Estates has one mapped out from Centerton days that is a 1 mi or 5k. It's good - just super hilly. Good luck!

You have a jogger stroller!?! I don't even have kids and I want one. haha...Yay for running! Nothing gets me going better than NEW music on my ipod! Paying for running in races is pretty dumb, but there is something about it that's so addicting! I'm doing a "mud run" (a 10k in the mud with obstacles) next month. I'm not too sure about it, but it'll be an adventure! Sometimes running plain old sucks... when I'm out running I'll be thinking of you and wishing you luck :)

Micah and I did that and surprisingly I still felt like it was an accomplishment. :) Good luck with it all. I'm trying to get back into it as well. I'm only barely over a mile. Ha!

Wow, I'm impressed! I love the competition and adrenaline that comes with a race, but I agree that the registration is more than a little ridiculous. Pretty expensive t-shirt :)
