Halloween 2015

 office halloween trick or treating

We, along with the rest of the world, were a Star Wars family this year for Halloween!  The boys were over the moon thrilled about their costumes.  They wore them constantly leading up to Halloween and afterwards.

The day before Halloween we went trick or treating at dad's office.  I'm really not sure why I buy candy to pass out every year.  I should just hand out what they bring home from this night alone.

Peter couldn't figure out what to do with the candy he got.  Once he figured out you just put it in your bucket and get MORE he couldn't believe it.  BEST THING EVER!

We spent Halloween day at Cornbelly's.  This is our favorite place to go in the fall!  Halloween is the last day the place is open so we had to get one more use out of our passes for the  year.

Have you ever seen a happier face?

We came home that afternoon and got ready for trick or treating.  The boys were READY!

The boys remembered that the switch witch came last year and couldn't wait to see what toy she would bring in return for them giving up their candy.  I was surprised, and glad, they were excited about it this year!  We had one night of candy, candy, candy....tasting all the candy we wanted.  The boys set out their buckets for the switch witch and found new Star Wars toys the next morning.  They were thrilled!

can you tell Joey likes skittles?

It was a great day!  Happy Halloween!

Family Announcement

Charlie turns 6

birthday donut breakfast

I can't believe Charlie turned the big 6 this past year!  He was so looking forward to his birthday.  It was even better this year because he got to go to school on his birthday.  He picked out little packets of oreos to bring to everyone in his class.

He was desperate to open one of his presents so I let him open one gift from his grandparents.  A new Star Wars shirt!  If you know Charlie, you know that he loves clothes.  He was excited to wear a new shirt to school on his birthday.

We started prepping for the party we were having that afternoon with friends.  I started on the cupcakes and Joey built a cake out of paper and lots of glue.

Charlie picked a Star Wars themed party and had a lightsaber cupcake "cake." We played several Star Wars themed games: storm trooper egg race, pin the shield on the light/dark side and smashed a Darth Vader pinata.

After games and cake we opened up presents!  This was the year of legos.  He got multiple lego sets as gifts and loved putting them together with Tony later that night.

Charlie is such an important part of our family.  He has turned into the most helpful big brother.  He is always looking out for Peter and Joey.  They look up to him so much and he sets the best example in our house.  He is an excellent reader and works really hard to sound out new words.  He enjoys learning new things and especially loves playing with friends.  He loves to ride his scooter, play legos & play mags, snuggle up with his stuffed animals and is very good as showing his love for others.  He often comes up during the day and says, "I love you mama."  He's taught me how important it is so express love in words because it just makes the other person feel great.

We love our Charlie boy!
Happy birthday!
