Peter is 7 Months

Peter is 7 months old!  I can't believe how fast time is going.

Having Peter in our home is pure joy.  Charlie loves to make him laugh and climb into his crib when he wakes.  Joey loves to give him hugs, usually a little too tight, and give him his sippy cup.  Yes, he just started using a sippy cup.  Please stop time.

Here's a little bit about our sweet Peter:

He still has that blonde feathery hair that sticks straight up in the back.  It reminds me of a baby chick.

He is starting to get that stranger danger and wants to be held by mom.

He LOVES real food.  He squeals until we give him bites of whatever we are eating.  It's so fun to feed him because he gets so excited about food.

He's a lover :)

He is so close to crawling.  He gets on all fours and then gets stuck.  One of these days he'll just take off!

He is cutting his bottom two teeth.

He won't have any problems keeping up with two older brothers.  This boy wants in on the all the action at home!

Here's his 6 month stats from September
Height: 26 in   19%
Weight: 15lb 11oz   15%
Head Circum: 17.5in   79%

Peter and I go walking while both boys are in preschool.  He loves going for walks.

I told you he loves food :)

We love our Peter!

Joey starts Preschool

Back in February my neighbor messaged me and said she had an opening in her 3 year old preschool class. I was shocked because her waiting list is YEARS long.  I'm not joking. Peter has been on her waiting list since he was 2 months old.  I wasn't going to send him, but I knew if I wanted him in her 4's class he would have to start in the 3's class so he could get on her early sign up list.  Man, you have to have stuff figured out as a parent!  My poor kids haha.  I'm doing the best I can!

I am so glad I signed him up because his birthday came around and I could tell he was ready for something of his own.  Preschool has made him feel like such a big kid!

His back to school day was pirate themed!  His invitation came in a water bottle, scrolled up with burnt edges and everything.  Joey talked for days about how there would be sharks, bad guys, nemo and all things pirate at his new school.  His stories had us laughing everyday!  This kid has a wild imagination!

Joey's school started 2 weeks after Charlie's.  Oh man, it was such a long wait!  He could not understand why he couldn't go as well!  Finally his day arrived and boy was he excited! We had a special dinner for Joey the night before and he received a priesthood blessing afterwards.

We had a special breakfast to celebrate both boys being in school on his first day.  He was ready to go!

First day of school with his bag!

He has a little binder that he can trace letters in and then wipe off.  I try to have him practice, but he's more interested in playing and that's fine by me!  Joey loves school but usually all I hear about is what they had for snacks that day.  Nobody loves snacks more than Joey.  I'm so happy Joey gets to have something that's special for him and separate from his brothers.  A middle child needs that!  I love seeing the crafts and fun things he does each day.  That Joey, he's a cutie!

Back to school for Charlie

It's fall and that means it's back to school again!  Charlie was really excited to start preschool again this year.  Last year he was in the 3 year old class, but this year he is in the BIG 4 year old class.  Big man on campus!  He is really excited to be the oldest :)

The night before school we had a special dinner.  After he received a back to school blessing from his dad.

fancy cups make any dinner feel extra special

Charlie has a perfectionist personality.  If something doesn't come easy he gets flustered and wants to quit.  I'm constantly reinforcing that nothing is easy until after you practice and work really hard.  It's such a truth about life and our talks have been a great reminder for myself!  He brings little books home and we work on them together.  He has quite a list of sight words down!  He passes them off at school and each time tells me how proud he is to get his sticker on his chart.  I try to make learning at home fun and we work on something a little each day.

find the letters in your name before lunch

It's preschool so really I just want him to have fun and make friends.  He is great at making friends!  He has a way of getting along with all types of personalities.

It is so much fun watching Charlie grow up.  These kids come to earth with their own personalities and so much to offer!  I'm just lucky to be his mother.

Labor Day Adventures

One of the things I loved about living was Arkansas was crossing adventures off of our Family Live List.  It made the area so fun!  We've started a Utah live list and crossed something off our list over the Labor Day Weekend.

Charlie & Joey running on the grounds

We took a picnic lunch to the capitol.  It was awesome.  I don't know what it is about the capitol, but we love going there.  We explored it last year a couple times and it's just so fun.

What was the best part?  The elevators, of course!  Charlie and Joey wanted to be in those awesome elevators the whole time.  To be honest, they were really cool.  In fact, the only way we got Joey off the elevator was bribing him with skittles.

Lets ride it again, and again, and again...

I tell myself that my boys will have big dreams if I take them to places like this.  Maybe they will and maybe they won't.  We had a fun day!

Ward Camp Out!

Back in August we went camping with our ward family!  It was our first camping trip as a whole family and Joey's first time ever.  There was a potluck dinner, campfire smores, swinging on rope swings, looking for sticks, big morning breakfast...pretty much everything you need for a perfect camp out.
Joey makes a GREAT camper.  He loved every minute of it!

 Waking up in the tent

Peter was such an angel!  Can't you see the joy in his face from these photos?  He loved being outside and looking up at the leaves blowing in the trees.

We made two stops on our way home.  First stop- the Red Barn for ice cream.  I've always wanted to stop in and the ice cream did not disappoint!
Second stop- Payson, UT temple.  Our ward had a summer challenge to reach 100 photos of family members in front of temples.  We did our part and this time we pulled over to look at the under construction temple.  It is beautiful!

Great trip!  We checked off "go camping as a family" from our list of family goals for the year!
