Morning Moves
I like to start the mornings off with dancing. After breakfast me and the boys like to dance in the kitchen. It puts us all in a good mood.
The boys will only thing my dancing is cool for a little bit longer and then I'll be dorky. Just like I thought my mom was dorky for her "opera mornings" when she would only talk to us in a opera voice. I did that a few months ago and thought, "oh my gosh, I'm my mom." Funny that how that happens! But hey, I think my mom is pretty cool now so it's okay.
I love having little kids. There's so much freedom to our day. We can have lazy mornings when we want them--there's no hurrying for school, etc. We can make fun breakfasts and decide to have the main event of our day be playing at the park. I will miss this time in our lives!
Lunch with Daddy
Today we picked daddy up from work and had lunch at the park.
Charlie and Joey love their dad. So do I :)

Joey 9 Months
Joey has had a lot of "firsts" this past month! He started crawling, got his first two teeth & his first hair cut! This age is such a fun time. He is learning so fast and we see more and more of his personality everyday.
Joey...
LOVES bath time. When he's in the tub I have to hide behind a towel and Charlie puts his hands over his face and yells "my eyes! my eyes!" Joey is a maniac in the tub. He splashes so hard the whole bathroom ends up soaking wet.
He loves pears and sweet potatoes.
He is all over the house. His favorite place to be is in Charlie's room or in the bathroom if he can sneak in.
He loves to jump up and down in his crib. We know he's awake when we hear his crib springs on the monitor.
His hair has a slight wave to it.
He loves playing & being next to Charlie.
He cackles when he laughs.
He loves the remote control, my cell phone and daddy's computer.
Now that he's crawling, he can entertain himself for long periods of time. You have to keep an eye on him or he'll be on the opposite side of the house, but he loves to explore.
He's just our happy boy and we love having him in our family.

Rough Week
Things looked good after my surgery until I woke up with a fever four days later. I ended up in the ER with a 106 fever and stayed for several hours until it went down. It worked out nicely that I had my surgery follow up appointment several hours after leaving. The boys were at a friends and Tony and I were able to sleep a few hours before going to the urologist. (which can I just say that being in an urologist office makes me have a pity party for myself? It's me and a bunch of elderly men. I'm too young for these problems!)
During the appointment, my fever was back along with constant kidney pain. I was admitted into the hospital and ended up staying for four days. I was there for the IV, pain medication and help to keep the daily fevers down. We waited for results to tell us what was wrong. After 3 days they found ecoli in my kidney. For some reason, the surgery triggered the ecoli found in the stomach to move into my urine and thus into the kidney. I was able to get the right antibiotic once the infection was figured out.
It was a long week with a lot of pain and tears. I sobbed like a baby when they said I could go home.
I missed the boys so much! Joey had a week of firsts while I was gone: his first tooth and he started crawling! We are so grateful for Tony's job that let him take the entire week off to be with me, the boys and run the house. I'm so grateful for a wonderful ward with friends who brought meals and watched the boys. I'm so grateful for Tony and his ability to handle anything and everything. I'm so grateful for priesthood blessings and for the small moments that strengthened my faith.
I've been home for four days now and am starting to feel so much better. I'm definitely worn out easily but each day I have more energy than the last!

I took this picture once the bruises started going away. My poor black and blue arms looked horrible. My right arm was stuck 11 eleven times and the left one 9 times. Oh and don't forget the two burnings shots on both sides of my rear end...

It's Potty Time
One thing I didn't expect about being a parent is how full my life would be with poop and pee. Are you grossed out? It's true. When they're babies, poop and pee mean they're healthy. When they get older it's potty training and you get to deal with that. I have both of those right now.
If you pass by my house and hear screaming, clapping, singing, etc that would be because Charlie just went potty on the toilet. I'm sure I look like a crazy person making up potty dances and songs, but the thought of never changing another Charlie diaper breaks me into song and dance. Charlie thinks it's hilarious and Joey stares at me like I'm crazy.
We are slowly starting to potty train him. I previously said that once he was ready we were going to go all in, push through a few rough days, but it would be underwear and never looking back. We're going to Utah this month and the thought of helping Charlie in an airplane bathroom, while holding Joey, is not something I want to deal with. I didn't want to lose the interest he's had in the toilet so we're gradually starting the potty training process.
To make potty training fun, he has a special jar full of m&m's. If you know Charlie, you know this kid will do anything for treats. Getting two m&m's after going potty is the greatest thing ever to him. He also has a marvel super heroes toilet seat that he loves. He loves seeing his "good guys."
