It's a hard job being Charlie!

Heaven.

This past week has been what I imagine heaven to be like.  We spent every day together as a family.   With no where to be and nothing needing to be done, we did whatever we wanted.  It was perfect.
Tomorrow life goes back to normal--Tony goes back to work and it's me and the boys at home.
I guess we just need to have more babies so we can have more paternity leave... :)

One Month

I can't believe this angel is already a month old.

Do you want to just kiss those cheeks or what?!

As he's getting older and able to stay awake longer, his little personality is starting to show.  He has the happiest disposition!  He is so smiley and his eyes just light up when someone is talking to him.
He is the perfect addition to our family.

We love him more than words can express!

Jump Zone

Ever since Grandma Gibson left, Tony & Charlie have been wrestling on the blow up mattress she slept on.  Joey's room is now the "bounce house room" since it's in there along with all of Charlie's stuffed animals (they join the fight too, of course).  They've been having so much fun that we thought we'd take the boys to Jump Zone!  Well, when I say "the boys" I mean we went for Charlie since Joey slept in his carseat the whole time.

The facility has toddler time on Wednesdays so we thought we'd test it out then.  It was a ton of fun!  There were a bunch of huge inflatable slides & obstacle course bounce houses to explore.

Tony was the fun parent and took Charlie in all the big toys.  I was scared I would get stuck half way through and be pushed out by all the four year olds!

We were reminded of how young Charlie is when he seemed like a baby compared to the 3 and 4 year olds there.  At home he's our big kid!  It was a nice reminder that my baby is still my little baby--at least for now.

A Sesame Street blow up!  Perfect for Charlie!  We watch Sesame Street almost every day.

I think Charlie was a little overwhelmed by the size of everything....

See?! The inflatable toys are huge!

We're having so much fun with daddy home!

Paternity Leave Begins!

Tony is on paternity leave this week and it is AWESOME!  I love having him home.

Monday we started our week off right by going out for breakfast.  When would we ever go out for breakfast during the week?  Never, so this was extra special.

We went to the park and Charlie was in heaven.  If it wasn't so hot out I think he would live outside if given the choice.

We played on the swings, slides and pretended the rocks were food (he pretends everything is food right now).

Great way to start off our week together!

A Week with Grandma Gibson

We were lucky to have Grandma Gibson with us for a whole week!  She came to help around the house, with Joey and with Charlie.  It was great having her here!
While she was here, she helped me get started with our food storage, ironed, let me take naps and sleep in, mopped, scrubbed my pots and pans until they shined... I'm lucky to have such a great mother in law!

Charlie had a great time with his grandma.  They read stories together, played outside and he thoroughly enjoyed pulling her socks off over and over

Grandma brought Charlie a sprinkler for the backyard.  Perfect present since we love playing with water outside!  He also claimed the presents she brought for Joey...typical older sibling :)

Joey definitely filled out the week she was here.  It sad how quickly babies lose that newborn look, but so fun to see them start developing their own little features.

It was a great week.  My boys are lucky to have a grandma who loves them so much!

Joey's Newborn Photos

8 days after Joey was born, a friend set up a little photo shoot in our dining room. I could not be happier with the pictures she took!  Here are some of my favorites...

We could not be more in love with this little boy!

The Fourth

I love, love, love the fourth of July.  It was always a favorite growing up and I hope to make it a favorite for my kids as they get older.

That morning we woke up to doughnuts from dad.  Tony snuck out while we were sleeping and picked them up. This was special to me because growing up my grandparents would wake up early and pick up doughnuts for breakfast.  I always got the raspberry or lemon filled one.  Tony got those ones for me.  Raspberry filled doughnuts remind me of being a kid so I love them :)

That night we went to the city firework show.   We had a great spot--far enough away it wasn't too loud for Joey, but still able to see everything.

Although it doesn't look like it, Charlie did enjoy the fireworks!

Happy (late) Fourth of July!!!
