Rolling Over

Charlie rolled over for the first time tonight! I was folding laundry, look up, and he rolls over. It was so exciting! Tony was in the other room but he came in and then Charlie started rolling over nonstop. He hasn't figured out how to roll over once he's up, so he gets a little frustrated. Hopefully he'll learn that soon!
I know 3 videos is a little much but he is the first child AND he has very excited family in Utah :)

Photo Wall

Last night we finished arranging and hanging up frames on our wall! This took A LOT of patience on Tony's side. I told him what I wanted then he measured, leveled and hung everything up. It looks simple but it really took some work! Not to mention the several trips to hobby lobby it took to get five of the square frames...someone must have been competing with me to get these frames!
In the future, we'll be putting bookcases on either side...or maybe painting the small bookcases we already have--not sure yet.
But, it's finished and I love it.

Big Jeffrey

My family was here this past weekend but I'll wait to post until after my mom does :)

We love the baby section in Border's! There are so many cute toys & books to play with. Remember pictures of Charlie with his little giraffe Jeffrey?Charlie--3 months
Well Border's has a HUGE Jeffrey that Charlie absolutely loves. I brought my camera the last time we were there and snapped some pictures of Charlie loving the giraffe.

It was so cute seeing Charlie get excited about this giraffe. So if you see us at Borders, we're probably going to visit Jeffrey!

5 months

My baby is 5 months today!
He is such a little character. It's fun to watch his personality become more and more apparent.

I'm so lucky that I get to stay home with him.

Some fun things about Charlie.....

He loves to:
-play with his feet
-wrestle with mom and dad
- put his fingers in our mouths
-play peek a boo
He now:
-belly laughs
-likes eating rice cereal from a spoon
-loves story time and like to play with books

He's such a joy!

While I was sleeping, guess who was waiting in line with the screaming tweens, women and reluctant husbands at 12:01 AM last night?

Dinner at the Park

Last night we brought dinner to the park. The weather was too nice to not be outside!

I really wanted to put Charlie in the swings. He seemed to enjoy it! He had missed his last nap so he was a little out of it, but mom and dad had fun :)
We tried out the swings together...

and then on his own.

Charlie is so funny when we're outside. He studies everything--there's just so much to take in!
We can't wait for this sunny weather to stay for good!
One last thing to do for Charlie's room and it's finished! I'll post pictures tomorrow!

Charlie's First Haircut

Today Charlie and I got haircuts! He needed one badly--hair was touching the bottom of his earlobes. I was a little worried but he did so good! No crying, but extreme wiggling while trying to figure out what was going on. Luckily we didn't leave with any bald spots!

The PERFECT Fit

I've been looking around for some kind of chest to go in the corner of our dining room. Something to display dishes and decorations for each season.
Remember the thrift/antique-ish store I bought this at?

Well, this place again had the perfect piece I was looking for....

Isn't it beautiful! It was exactly what we were picturing, even better actually. It's a corner cabinet so it slides right up against the walls--a perfect fit.

I love the windows up top and the closed cabinets below.

I really like the yellow paint inside, but it's a little too yellow for me. In the future, I'm planning on painting a paler yellow and replacing the knobs.
It brightens up our whole dining room!
It really is the perfect fit!

Sitting Up

Today I've been helping Charlie sit up.
He is getting so strong and can hold himself up for quite a while.Holding out those arms for balance...

As long as mom doesn't shriek and clap with excitement, he can concentrate and keep pretty steady!

Rice Cereal

Tonight was Charlie's first time trying rice cereal.
He's such a big boy!

Such a LONG wait!

We have had so much fun getting our new house organized. It's fun to imagine what we could do. I want to take our time picking pieces we will love for a long time, but it's hard to be patient!

Last week I found THE CUTEST little thrift shop. The owner, with a few friends, finds furniture ( refinishes it) and antiques, then sells them in their shop. The whole place is covered in one of a kind chests, dishes, signs...I could spend hours browsing through everything.
I bought this end table for our living room.I am in love with it!

I have a serious obsession with red. I don't know why but I'm drawn to anything and everything red. I have been for years. Maybe it's because I really love pink and red is the closest thing that isn't too girly...maybe.
I'm hoping this little table will work with our new furniture, but we won't know that until MAY!!! We just ordered a couch and chair and unfortunately they won't be delivered until May 5th...It's going to be a long wait with only our little loveseat, but it's okay--I love what will be coming!

A Little Stroll

We are having the absolute BEST weather right now. Warm enough that I put on my capris, flip flops and took Charlie to the pond that's down the street. He loved it! It's so funny because since it has been gloomy lately, he's not used to being outside. When we do go out, he looks around in awe like he's in a whole new world. It's so fun watching him discover new things.
It feels like spring is finally here! Hopefully this nice weather will stay!
