Painting Project: Kitchen Table Chairs

Remember this multi-colored dresser?

We painted it so it now looks like this for the baby's room
Look at these chairs...do the colors look familiar?
Yep, these chairs were originally painted to match the dresser.
(Two chairs are missing--the red one and the green one)

My newest project is painting these chairs. I started yesterday and have one almost finished. I'm painting them white (oyster white to be exact) and I can't wait for them to be finished! Yeah, they won't match the table but I kinda like the mismatched table/chair look.

I'll post the finished project when I've finished!
I'm excited to stop feeling like we're sitting at the kids table!

Sisters, Sisters

"....There were never such devoted sisters..." Anyone know that movie?

My sisters came out to visit for a WHOLE week! They left yesterday and I'm so sad they're gone. We had such a great time!!!

Can you tell?
Hailey is six years younger than me and I remember being a teenager and my mom telling me, "Be nice. One day you guys will be great friends." I would say we always were friends but sometimes you don't fully appreciate your siblings until you get a little bit older.
(sorry the only picture we have together is us in the pool!) And yes, I'm a baby and needed my sunglasses in the pool....I take after my mother :)

Chloe is nine years younger than me so she always seemed like the younger baby of the family. It's weird to see her more grown up...wanting to go shopping and telling me about her friends and junior high classes---crazy!

I'm so glad we're good friends because there's some things only you and your immediate family can relate to.

While they were here we saw HP 6--(AWESOME! If you haven't seen it yet go see it tonight!), went swimming and out to lunch, watched chick flicks, did pedicures and lots of shopping, visited the local farmer's market and the Wild Wilderness Safari & Petting zoo, ate frozen custard and way too many treats...we had a blast!

I've posted pictures of this place before but here are some cute ones of the girls!

Drive thru safari...Hailey and Chloe with a zebra

Chloe watching the emus--they are so creepy!
With the kangaroos!

Petting the baby lion. Only 3 months old!

Brother and sister in law :)

We had SUCH great time! I'm so glad they were able to come!
LOVE YOU GIRLS!

What We've Been Up To

The last few weeks have just FLOWN by! I can't believe it's already the middle of July!!! It feels like the summer just started...except for the summer heat that has been baking us alive for the past two months. I'm not used to heat AND humidity. It is so hot here!
We had a good fourth of July. Tony was on-call but luckily he didn't have anything come up. So we hung out here, watched movies, etc. The day of the fourth it was pouring down rain! So even though we couldn't go out and do anything, it was nice to have the heat cooled off for fireworks that night.
We went to the park to see the fireworks and played card games while we waited for it to get dark.
The fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays so I'm glad the rain didn't ruin the fireworks! I look forward to them all year.

We put the crib together last week! We weren't planning on getting it so soon but we had this crib picked out and it went on sale. So now we have a crib that we stare at and talk about what it will be like when we actually have a baby in it.
Here it is!

My mom is making the bedding, which I am so excited about because if you know what my mom can do, you know it will be gorgeous, in a baby kind of way :)

We are 24 weeks along. I seriously can't imagine this stomach getting any bigger. I'm kinda scared to see what I look like in October...I told Tony that with all the teen pregnancies in the United States, every teenage girl should be shown a picture of or see a pregnant lady naked. That might make them think twice haha.

This past week we took an overnight trip to Oklahoma City, just to get away and have a change of scenery. We went to the Bricktown area and had a great time. The area is gorgeous and has a beautiful canal running through it, lots of awesome restaurants and event centers.
We got there Thursday night and ate at The Bourbon Street Cafe where we listened to live jazz music and tried alligator for the first time.
It was surprisingly good...tasted like a mix of chicken and calamari? That's how I would describe it. After that we walked along the canal and enjoyed the scenery.

We discovered Sonic's headquarters are here, along the canal. Which maybe explains why in our town there are four sonics within 15 miles of each other! They are everywhere! It was a nice relaxing getaway and I'm so glad we were able to go!
That pretty much sums up our fast few weeks. My sisters are coming out on Tuesday to visit for a whole week! We are so excited and can't wait for them to get here!
