Well, we had a good running but after two days of Tony being home, he had to go back to work. Bummer. (read post below about why he was home) It's back to me and myself at home.
Is anyone else obsessed with this family? If you don't recognize them, they have their own show on TLC called Jon and Kate plus 8. This family has a set of twins and sextuplets. I love this family. The mom (Kate) is so down to earth and I think the kids are adorable. Kate has a book out called "Multiple Blessings" and I hope to read it soon. Maybe when I have my own kids I won't want to watch a reality show about having a bunch of kids, I don't know, but right now I love it.

A week ago I did this:

Decorated MiNi CaKeS

Don't let them fool you...Just because they're small doesn't mean you can eat as many as you want.
Please don't ask me how many I had
It was fun making these little cuties.

Ice Storm

Yesterday Tony was told to leave work early to avoid a coming storm. This morning he tried to go but the car was covered in ice. He called work to see what they wanted him to do and was told practically all employees are home for the day so he could stay home too. Too bad today was the day I planned on scrubbing everything down...Tony has been helping me clean this morning. I'm kinda liking this bad weather :)
We went outside to look around and couldn't help taking some pictures. Our neighbors probably think we're crazy.

Every blade of grass has it's own icicle around it. It looks pretty cool!

So today we're just hanging out, cleaning and playing the wii. It may be like this tomorrow too! We'll see!

Cake Decorating

After last summer, I knew that I needed to find some hobbies if I wanted to stay productive, happy and positive. It's hard staying home alone! I am hoping to find a job but until then, I don't want to be sitting around the house watching television. That just gets depressing and I am not doing that.
So what did I decide to learn?
Cake Decorating
Tony and I spent probably an hour and a half roaming Hobby Lobby. I got this book...Wilton Cake Decorating Course 1
Wilton has four course books that cover every kind of cake you could ever want to make. Wilton also has kits that go hand in hand with the course books, so I have the supplies that are required for the different lessons. Today I made some frosting and decided to try out a few of the designs on parchment paper. It's harder than I thought! I thought I could figure everything out by just looking at the examples pictures...after trying to figure it out on my own, I started reading the instructions and had a lot more luck :) I think that's the hardest thing about learning something new. I never want to start at the beginning--I want to be an expert on my first try.
Here are a few snapshots that I took
I love polka dots and I love Tony...my two favorite things :)
Practicing little stars...

And my headless clown...I don't know how to make heads but I attempted to make a body. I think it turned out pretty cute. By this point my frosting was getting warm and so it wasn't as stiff as it could be but I still like it!

Tomorrow I may try decorating an actual cake or just practice more designs.
I'm excited to have something new to do!

Peek Into Our Place

Here's a few pictures of our NEW apartment. We're still in the process of hanging things up on the walls and things like that, but this is it!
This is our master bathroom. Notice the red polka dot
ted shower curtain--it's one of my favorite things in our apartment. You can't tell how adorable it is in this picture, but seriously, I love it.

This is our family room.
This is our kitchen

The kitchen keeps going, turn right and there we have a fridge and shelves. Off of that there's this great room with a washer and dryer along with our beginnings of our food storage.

We have a spare room and bathroom, but the bathroom isn't exciting so here is the spare room! We have Tony's desk, my craft table and pretty much the other random things that we own. Like the lovely multi-color dresser, my old bed, etc. This is my favorite room because I can work on projects and leave them there. Right now I'm painting Valentine's Day decorations! Pictures to come :)

Our bedroom

There you have it! Those are the pictures I have taken so far.
We really enjoy it and I'm having a blast making things to hang on the walls and spice up the place!

Temple Trip

Today was our ward temple day and we volunteered to go. I'm so glad that we did! Our temple is in the Oklahoma City Temple so it was a little bit of a drive ( 3 1/2 hours both ways) but after our trek from Utah to Arkansas, what's 7 more hours?
We are in the ward we attended last summer so it's nice to already have some familiar faces.
We had a great day and I'm so glad we were able to go!

This morning while watching Regis and Kelly, a runner at the bottom of the TV screen said there was a storm alert and started a list of closed facilities in the area.
(Remember, we're still on our little vacation so we hadn't even looked out the window yet and all of our blinds are closed.)
My first thought was maybe a tornado was coming? Yeah it's January and I don't think tornadoes happen in the winter, maybe they do, but we've had good weather ever since we've been here. It's cold but usually sunny outside and looks like a fall day. Tony and I were so confused!
We stepped onto our porch and this is what we saw
This is the weather alert?! Grass is still visible so we're not too worried. We've been cracking up about this all day!

"MMMmmm....Now That's On Point"

I love, love, love the Food Network and I watch it all the time. Tony used to think it was lame but now he is starting to slowly enjoy it with me. Yesterday we were watching Guy Fieri make egg rolls and thought they looked awesome so we looked up his recipe online and made them ourselves tonight! They turned out SO GOOD!!! They were so fun to make and we felt so fancy making them.
Here's Tony rolling them up
The finished product
Here's the link for the recipe.

We did make some changes and didn't add everything the recipe called for but they turned out so good! They were also really cheap to make and tasted way better than the ones you can buy at restaurants.
We had so much fun!
Let me know if you give them a try!

Moved In

Well, we made it! After four days of traveling we are finally here!!! The trip here was long but we had fun being in the car together. Here are a few pictures from our little roadtrip!

This is what we drove and pulled all the way there...
To avoid the windy mountain roads we had to drive through Vegas first. We drove over the Hoover Dam which was really neat to see. A new bridge is being built there too! Here are some pictures of the construction going on for that...

There were SO MANY tourists to see the Hoover Dam! It took us a couple hours in stopped traffic to get to and over the Hoover Dam but the view was awesome.
I really don't like long car trips but Tony was so great about being super positive and upbeat about the whole trip, just to keep me happy. Can you tell?
Unfortunately my camera batteries died after only making it to Arizona so those are a few of the pictures that I was able to take.

We've been here for about a week and we are ALMOST fully moved in. All of the boxes are unpacked--it's just a few of my things that aren't organized yet.
We are loving our new apartment! The layout is really homey and we have an extra bedroom and bathroom. Which, surprisingly enough, we are using all the space. I have no idea where all of our stuff came from!

Tony starts work next week so we are enjoying the last week of our vacation together! We've been sleeping in, watching movies, doing lots of shopping, building shelves and other pieces of furniture along with organizing things in our new home. It has been great!
I feel so blessed to be here and for Tony to have a great job.

I'll be sure to post pictures of our new place soon!
